Health Fair at Dar El-Eman – Sep 13, 2009
AMWPA along with Outreach Program at Texas Harris Methodist Hospital organized a Community Health Fair at Dar El-Eman Islamic Center in Arlington, TX. The event was a huge success with a great turn-out both of participants and volunteers. Over 60 people were screened for glucose, total cholestrol, HDL, LDL and triglycerides. Around 30 individuals had vision screening done by an optometrist. Around 65 adult participants received flu shots while around 16 had osteoporosis screening done. The chance to talk to doctors from so many different specialties was appreciated quite a lot by the participants. This success could not have been achieved without the help of our volunteers:
